Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Primary / Junior Teacher with Direct Instruction (DI) training such as Reading Mastery or Corrective Reading to provide academic support to students. The ideal candidate will be experienced in using structured, research-based teaching methods to help students improve reading and other foundational skills. This role involves working with students across various grade levels, providing both remedial and enrichment support , and tailoring lessons to meet individual student needs based on the Ontario curriculum.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide academic support to students based on expertise in the Ontario curriculum .
- Utilize Direct Instruction (DI) methods, such as Reading Mastery and Corrective Reading , to support students with foundational reading skills and literacy.
- Create and assign supplemental assignments to reinforce learning and increase understanding of the material.
- Offer both remedial and enrichment support tailored to individual student needs.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians to update them on student progress and discuss any challenges or successes.
