The Senior Tax Manager role is a critical leadership position responsible for managing a portfolio of private client engagements. This includes corporate, personal, and trust tax filings, with a strong focus on providing strategic tax planning advice to the firm’s entrepreneurial client base. In this capacity, the successful candidate will offer advisory services on matters such as reorganizations, mergers and acquisitions, and cross-border transactions. Working closely with the Tax Practice Leader, the Senior Tax Manager will be instrumental in driving the firm’s growth by developing innovative tax strategies tailored to each client’s unique needs.

A key aspect of this role is fostering a culture of continuous learning and mentorship within the Client Service Tax Team. The Senior Tax Manager will guide junior team members through complex tax engagements, ensuring the accuracy and compliance of all filings, while promoting professional development. The ideal candidate will have experience presenting or instructing on Canadian tax issues through the CPA In-Depth Tax course, a key requirement for this role. By staying current on changes to Canadian tax laws and regulations, the Senior Tax Manager will contribute to the firm’s thought leadership by participating in presentations and industry events.

The ideal candidate for this role will be a highly motivated tax professional with a strong technical background and proven leadership experience. They will possess a client-focused mindset, driven to deliver exceptional service to owner-managed businesses and high-net-worth individuals. Demonstrating the ability to manage complex tax engagements, the Senior Tax Manager will also excel in building lasting client relationships and fostering trust through personalized service and innovative solutions. The role requires a CPA designation, with a minimum of six years of relevant Canadian tax experience, preferably within a public accounting firm. Candidates with a STEP Canada diploma in Trusts and Estates will be viewed favourably.
