Position : Director of Regulatory Compliance Location : EstrieAre you an expert in tax law, customs regulations, and corporate compliance with a passion for mitigating risk and ensuring global compliance? A leading organization is seeking a Director of Regulatory Compliance to oversee all aspects of regulatory adherence both in Canada and internationally.Key Responsibilities : - Develop and manage the company's compliance framework, policies, and internal controls regarding taxes and customs.- Serve as the primary contact for audits and investigations by tax authorities or customs officials.- Work with customs brokers to ensure correct tariff classifications, valuation methods, and origin declarations for imports / exports.- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and CBSA (Canada Border Services Agency) for import / export activities.- Oversee the management of HS codes, duty deferral programs, and free trade agreements such as CUSMA.- Coordinate responses to audits from CRA and Revenu Québec, manage voluntary disclosures or reassessments when necessary.- Offer strategic insights to optimize tax structures and minimize customs duties while ensuring compliance.- Stay abreast of regulatory changes, ensuring internal teams are informed and properly trained.- Collaborate with IT and finance teams to integrate regulatory compliance within ERP systems.Collaborating with Customs Brokers : - Manage and maintain relationships with customs brokers to ensure smooth import / export operations.- Review and approve documentation filed by customs brokers for accuracy and compliance.- Provide training and guidance to internal teams and brokers regarding updates to regulatory requirements, product classifications, and valuation methods.- Conduct audits and performance reviews of customs brokers to maintain service quality.Ideal Candidate : - Extensive knowledge of Canadian and international tax, customs, and trade regulations.- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to navigate complex regulatory landscapes.- Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, especially in dealing with government authorities and external partners.- Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy in all documentation and reporting.- Well-organized with the ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.- A strategic, proactive mindset with a strong risk management focus.- Collaborative leader who promotes teamwork and knowledge sharing across functions.Preferred Tools & Systems Experience : - Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.- Familiar with ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or JD Edwards.- Knowledge of customs compliance tools such as Descartes and Amber Road is a plus.If you are ready to lead compliance efforts and work with a dynamic team, we invite you to apply to Milene Rizcalla at [email protected] for this exciting opportunity.REFER A PERM HIRE AND EARN UP TO $1,000!
