THE OPPORTUNITY

TechInsights is seeking a Tax Compliance Director to direct the comprehensive management of corporate tax compliance operations, overseeing the preparation, review, and maintenance of all tax records, returns, and regulatory filings across local, state, and federal jurisdictions. This role ensures accurate and timely submission of all tax-related documentation while adhering to strict filing deadlines. The position monitors and analyzes ongoing changes in tax legislation and regulatory requirements, translating complex regulatory updates into actionable compliance strategies, and implements process improvements and controls to maintain organizational adherence to all applicable tax laws and reporting standards.

The Tax Compliance Director will oversee all U.S. Federal, State, and local tax compliance, lead the company's global transfer pricing program, and manage tax requirements for the U.K. and other international jurisdictions. Additional responsibilities include supporting tax due diligence for acquisitions, ensuring compliant integration of new entities, and maintaining strong tax governance throughout the organization. This position requires deep technical expertise, strong operational discipline, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a global environment.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Lead preparation, review, and timely filing of all U.S. federal, state, and local tax returns, provisions, and compliance obligations, while monitoring tax legislation changes and assessing operational impacts
  • Direct international tax compliance across U.K. and global entities, working with external advisors to ensure accurate filings, registrations, and statutory requirements across all jurisdictions
  • Lead global transfer pricing strategy, documentation, and compliance with IRS, OECD, and local rules, including intercompany transaction oversight, year-end reconciliations, and audit defense
  • Develop tax strategies and optimization opportunities across jurisdictions, conduct M&A tax due diligence, and assess impacts of new legislation on operations while identifying and communicating tax risks
  • Manage relationships with tax authorities, external auditors, and consultants, coordinating year-end working papers, reviewing externally prepared returns, and serving as primary contact for tax audits and inquiries

WHAT YOU’LL BRING
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA, CA, or advanced degree (Master's in Taxation, MBA) strongly preferred
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Canadian and U.S. federal, state, and local tax laws, including corporate income tax, sales tax, commodity taxes, and multi-state compliance strategies
  • Strong understanding of transfer pricing methodologies, documentation requirements, and cross-border tax implications, with experience in tax provisions and deferred tax accounting under IFRS
  • Proven experience conducting M&A tax due diligence, managing tax authority examinations, and coordinating with external auditors
  • Ability to analyze complex tax legislation, develop optimization strategies, forecast taxable income, and provide recommendations for tax minimization and risk mitigation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to coordinate cross-functionally, manage external advisors, and explain technical tax matters to non-tax stakeholders

As part of the recruitment process for this position, you will be required to submit your latest citizenship and/or permanent residency information. This information will be used to comply with U.S. Export Control Laws and Regulations.

WORKING ARRANGEMENT
  • Full time, in office position
  • Majority of workday sitting or standing at a computer workstation
