Job Purpose
The Talent Acquisition (TA) Specialist is responsible for managing the end‑to‑end recruitment process, ensuring a seamless, efficient, and compliant approach to hiring for open positions. This role involves attracting, engaging, and assessing qualified candidates through various platforms, maintaining a continuous pipeline of talent, and supporting diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. The TA Specialist collaborates closely with hiring managers to facilitate interviews, extend offers, and ensure smooth onboarding, while maintaining accurate records and meeting recruitment KPIs.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end‑to‑end recruitment process, ensuring a streamlined and effective approach from job posting through to candidate onboarding, while strictly adhering to company procedures and industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with the Employment Standards Act (ESA) and other relevant laws, maintaining ethical recruitment practices and safeguarding fair treatment throughout the hiring process.
- Support diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, ensuring fair and inclusive recruitment practices at every stage.
- Utilize various platforms (internal databases, online employment forums, and social media) to attract and engage suitable candidates for open positions.
- Maintain and update a database of eligible employees, ensuring a continuous pipeline of qualified candidates for future recruitment needs and supporting long‑term talent acquisition strategies.
- Coordinate and plan initial interview and selection processes, including prescreening calls, skills assessments, and in‑person interviews, ensuring alignment with organizational needs.
- Review candidate information (resumes, contact details) and assess qualifications using the Applicant Tracking System (ATS), along with additional screening methods.
- Work closely with hiring managers to conduct effective interviews and streamline recruitment processes, ensuring a seamless and timely hiring experience.
- Maintain comprehensive recruitment records, including interview notes, assessments, and related paperwork, to share insights with stakeholders for informed decision‑making.
- Extend job offers to selected candidates and facilitate onboarding paperwork for both new hires and existing employees.
- Post internal and external job listings across relevant platforms, ensuring job openings reach diverse candidate pools.
- Represent the company at job fairs, networking events, and industry conferences to strengthen recruitment efforts and build relationships with external stakeholders.
- Conduct post‑hire follow up sessions at 2 weeks and 6 months to identify and address any training gaps or concerns, ensuring ongoing employee success.
- Conduct exit interviews to gather insights from departing employees, identifying areas for organizational improvement.
- Coordinate 3‑month and 6‑month probation evaluations with managers, ensuring feedback is shared and employees are properly supported during their early stages.
- Maintain and regularly update recruitment trackers to monitor progress and keep all stakeholders informed on candidate status.
- Provide feedback to internal employees to help refine and improve the internal hiring process for future openings.
- Update the crew list regularly to ensure an accurate representation of headcount and labour in the facilities, reflecting changes such as new hires, terminations, and role adjustments.
- Submit IT support tickets for new hires, role changes, and exiting employees to ensure that all necessary system access, hardware, and software are promptly provided or revoked, facilitating a smooth onboarding, transition, or offboarding process.
- Achieve and meet KPIs related to recruitment efficiency, candidate quality, and time‑to‑hire, ensuring recruitment goals are met.
- Perform other assigned duties.
- Follow Health and Safety rules and regulations.
- Must follow Good Manufacturing Practices, Food Safety, and Food Defense guidelines.
- Comply with all Company policies and procedures.
