Job descriptionDiploma, certificate, or associate degree in Civil / Structural Engineering Technology. Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with BIM software is an advantage. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word. Strong understanding of structural analysis, including load calculations, material behavior, and structural integrity checks. Deep familiarity with structural drawings and details, including reading, interpreting, and creating structural plans, sections, elevations, schedules, and connection details for steel structures. Knowledge of steel structural design principles, detailing, shop and erection drawing practices, and relevant codes. Prior experience working with a Structural Technician or in a structural engineering support role preferred. Excellent attention to details, strong analytical and problem solving abilities. Effective communication and ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Strong communication skills both in verbal and written.

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Structural Technician to join our structural engineering team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in AutoCAD, familiar with structural analysis, knowledgeable about structural drawings and detailing, comfortable working with steel structures, and have experience supporting structural engineering work. Experience as a Structural Technologist is a strong asset.
Responsibilities
- Prepare drawings and engineering sketches using AutoCAD, based on engineer specifications and similar previous projects.
- Interpret and review structural drawings, shop and erection drawings, and detail sheets, particularly for steel structures.
- Ensure compliance with drafting standards and project requirements.
- Perform quality assurance for drawing accuracy, adherence to codes / standards, and clarity for fabrication or construction teams.
- Assist during site inspections to verify field conditions with the design documents.
- Collaborate with construction, fabrication, and engineering teams to clarify design intent and resolve technical issues.
- Maintain organized records of structural analysis, design changes, revisions, and project documentation.
