Jackson Stewart of Lock Search Group is looking for a driven and knowledgeable Buyer that enjoys the comfort of working remotely. If you thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and have a passion for procurement and negotiation, this could be your next opportunity. To qualify for this role you need a minimum of 3 years of experience working within a fresh produce procurement environment. This role will have the flexibility of a Hybrid schedule as at the end of the day you will need to inspect the products.
The primary objective is to achieve a 100% order fill rate by accurately forecasting sales and issuing timely purchase orders. The role demands cost-effective freight management and careful inventory control to meet demand without overstocking. It requires strong analytical skills and the ability to balance availability with efficiency in a dynamic and complex supply chain environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitor inventory levels and replenish stock as needed
- Collaborate with Sales to develop long-term supply strategies and identify weekly sales opportunities
- Identify and report recurring quality issues with vendors or products
- Ensure product on hand meets quality standards and shelf-life requirements
- Track product costs to secure optimal value in terms of price and quality
- Flag purchase orders (POs) with significant losses and file claims when product fails to meet agreed terms
- Maintain loss records for each PO
- Prepare Confirmation of Sales (COS) forms to facilitate smooth and timely cross-border shipments
- Keep the Procurement Manager and Sales team updated on new items, supply gaps, and market opportunities
- Fulfill local orders and assist with their supply needs
- Share supplier and quality information
- Align supply for shared customers
