Job Description

The Supply Chain Analyst plays a crucial role in supporting the procurement function by acting as a backup buyer, improving procurement processes, maintaining systems, building reports, and providing training to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and a collaborative approach to ensure effective procurement and operational performance.

Key Responsibilities

Process Improvement / Project

Identify areas for improvement within procurement processes, workflows, and operations to enhance efficiency and reduce costs;
Analyze existing procurement procedures, make recommendations for process changes, and implement improvements to streamline purchasing activities;
Develop and document new standard operating procedures (SOPs) for procurement activities to ensure consistency across the team.

Report Building and Analysis

Build and maintain procurement-related reports, including spend analysis, supplier performance, and inventory turnover reports;

Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support strategic decision-making within the procurement team;

Regularly review KPIs and metrics to measure the effectiveness of procurement processes and identify areas for improvement.

System Maintenance

Maintain and update procurement systems (e.g., ERP, MRP, or procurement software) to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies;

Troubleshoot system issues and collaborate with IT or external vendors to resolve technical problems related to procurement systems;

Implement system upgrades, new features, or tools that improve procurement performance.

Training and Development

Provide training to new team members and other departments on procurement processes, systems, and tools;

Ensure all relevant staff are up to date with the latest procedures, systems, and procurement best practices;

Create training materials, manuals, and guides to facilitate knowledge sharing within the team.

Backup Buyer

Serve as a backup to the primary buyers by handling purchase orders, supplier communications, and procurement tasks as needed;

Ensure continuity of purchasing operations during peak times, absences, or urgent procurement requirements.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field;

3-5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, or operations roles;

Proficiency in procurement systems (e.g., ERP, MRP) and strong Excel skills for reporting and analysis;

Demonstrated ability to improve processes and implement new procedures;

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally and provide training;

Fluency in both oral and written English and French (English is essential for serving our U.S.-based clients);

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
