Job descriptionLocation : South-shore, the small town of St-Philippe (postal code J0L2K0) next to Candiac. We have a backyard with a playset, a pool, and live in a quiet family friendly neighbourhood. We’re looking for part time support (minimum 3 week days, morning and afternoon or equivalent – 5 half days during the week) with the possibility of full time (M-F). Ideally, the day would begin at 830 / 900am and end at 430 / 500pm. We’re looking for support until the summer of 2021, start date TBD; as early as July as late as Sept. There may be tutoring opportunities to follow. We have no preference for English or French, though bilingualism is a plus. We are not expecting substantial cleaning or cooking, though we may ask for some support to help tidy things up or help us feel less behind (e.g., fold laundry, put away toys). After the initial interviews, we will organize “playdates” before making a final invitation.

Although we frequently work from home, my wife and I work in jobs which require a lot of our time.
While the boys have been in daycare from the age of 1, we’re concerned about going back to daycare. It may not be the environment we’d like it to be as a result of the measures necessary for managing COVID-19.
More about the twins
It’s challenging to sum up the boys in a paragraph. They are energetic, love to use their imaginations (drawing, role-play, lego, make believe, etc.), eager to learn (reading, math, writing, music, etc.), perceptive, playful, and kind. They’re also four, and sometimes act out.
We’re looking for someone who :
- Can help them to learn, laugh, and grow to be capable young children.
- is ready to support our values while with the boys; e.g., the approach we use for discipline (e.g., check-ins to explain and talk about the situation), we reward and encourage genuine effort and teamwork far more than results, etc.
- Is ready to adapt and meet them where they are
- Has the energy to help them bike, swim, play, read, paint, draw, learn, puzzles, etc.
- Wants to stimulate their creativity and imagination
- Will respect COVID-19 precautions to minimize the risk to their own and our health

We’re not seeking a baby-sitter, we are looking for someone who wants to invest to be part of our family, our sons’ lives, and help them to flourish.
