Job descriptionInnovating with state-of-the-art lasers used in industries like EVs, solar power, display technology, and semiconductors. We’re enabling the future of green tech and advanced manufacturing. 12 months : May 2026 - April 2027 16 months (preferred) : May 2026 - August 2027 Pay range : $24-35 / hr Existing vacancy Develop and enhance optical design and simulation tools to support ongoing research and engineering projects. Characterize and test fiber optics, measuring performance metrics and analyzing resultsto ensure product quality and reliability. Assemble and align optical modules with precision, gaining valuable lab and prototyping experience. Design and build optical test setups , applying both creativity and problem-solving skills. Run optical simulations of diffractive optical elements (DOEs) and metasurfaces to explore next-generation technologies. Hands-on lab experience with state-of-the-art fiber optic tools and test equipment. Exposure to optical design, simulation software, and precision alignment techniques used in industry. Opportunities to collaborate with senior engineers and scientists on high-impact projects. A chance to apply your classroom knowledge to real-world engineering challenges while developing new technical skills. Currently in your 3rd year of an Engineering program (, Electrical, Physics, Photonics, or related field). Working knowledge of Gaussian beam theory, polarization, and optics fundamentals. Basic laboratory experience , with a strong willingness to learn new techniques and methodologies. Strong interest in optics, photonics, and advanced technologies. Eager to learn, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and in a team environment. Prior exposure to optical systems, simulation tools (, Zemax, Lumerical), or photonics-related projects is a plus, but not required.
