Reporting to the EVP of Business Development, the Compliance Coordinator is responsible for overseeing and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry standards. This position involves monitoring compliance activities and supporting various departments in maintaining adherence to requirements. In addition, the Compliance Coordinator will be directly involved in the development of corporate ESG policy, engagement and associated activities.
Responsibilities
Conduct regular compliance audits to assess adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies
Assist in the preparation and submission of regulatory reports and documentation
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards
Document compliance activities and findings, and track corrective actions
Assist in the development of compliance policies and procedures
Serve as a point of contact for compliance-related inquiries and support
Monitor changes in regulations and industry standards, and communicate impacts to the organization
Participate in compliance-related meetings and presentations as required
Develop ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) policies and procedures and audit compliance
Support Engagement with local communities and First Nations
Support Business Development activities as required
Support Executive Team as required
Support organization with contractor licensing and permitting across our North American Divisions
Requirements
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Compliance, Risk Management, Legal Assistant or a related field
Familiarity with regulatory requirements and industry standards applicable to the business
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information securely
Certifications in compliance or risk management would be an asset
Experience with compliance management software is a plus
