Job description

Adyen provides payments, data, and financial products in a single solution for customers like Meta, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft - making us the financial technology platform of choice. At Adyen, everything we do is engineered for ambition.

For our teams, we create an environment with opportunities for our people to succeed, backed by the culture and support to ensure they are enabled to truly own their careers. We are motivated individuals who tackle unique technical challenges at scale and solve them as a team. Together, we deliver innovative and ethical solutions that help businesses achieve their ambitions faster.

As a Senior Events Marketing Manager at Adyen, you are pipeline driven and highly adaptable. You will own the strategic vision for event marketing in Canada, including planning, executing, and optimizing across a mix of industry events, virtual events, and owned events. You understand that events often involve having multiple contingency plans and embrace the challenge with open arms and a cool head. You’ll work closely with our Canadian Sales, Partnerships, SDR and North America Marketing teams to develop and implement strategies that generate sales accepted opportunities.

This is a matrixed role collaborating across Canada, the US and Global Marketing teams. The ideal candidate employs a 360° approach to events ensuring strong stakeholder relationships and seamless coordination to achieve revenue-driven objectives.

What you’ll do :

  • Strategic Development : Propose and implement a range of event formats and strategies that drive sales accepted opportunities in Canada, in collaboration with local and global acquisition marketing teams.
  • Annual Planning : Research new events and formats while analyzing past performance to contribute to the Canada annual marketing plan in collaboration with demand generation, partnerships, product marketing, and PR.
  • Event Management : Oversee all aspects of event logistics, including goal setting, timelines, budgets, vendor management, and on-site coordination, ensuring all events are executed flawlessly.
  • Integrated Marketing Campaigns : Develop and execute pre-event, during-event, and post-event marketing campaigns in collaboration with your Marketing Demand Generation counterparts to drive attendance, engagement, and conversion. Leverage various channels such as email, social media, digital ads, and content marketing to effectively promote and capitalize on events.
  • Content & Messaging : Collaborate with the creative team to develop compelling event content, presentations, and promotional materials. Ensure consistent messaging across all event touch-points that effectively ties into the overarching integrated campaign.
  • Commercial Alignment : Work closely with commercial teams in Canada (Sales, SDR, Account Management, Partnerships) to ensure alignment on event objectives and goals. Provide regular updates throughout the planning and execution phases, and ensure timely lead handoff and follow-up post-event.
  • Reporting & Optimization : Gather quantitative and qualitative feedback from internal and external stakeholders. Track and report on event performance, including attendee engagement, lead generation, budget, and ROI. Analyze data to continuously improve future events and marketing strategies.
  • Market Insights : Maintain a curious mindset. Stay up-to-date with industry trends and the actions of our competitors in event marketing, technology, and experiential marketing to continuously elevate our event offerings.

Who you are :

  • General Experience : Minimum 8 years in an events marketing role with a focus on acquiring new customers. B2B marketing experience and comfort with complex buying committees are required.
  • Event Experience : Proven track record in managing events of various sizes from large-scale events, including trade shows, conferences, and experiential activations, to smaller bespoke experiences.
  • Industry Knowledge : Strong understanding of SaaS and / or Payments industries. Proven ability to create enterprise focused event experiences that generate high-quality leads.
  • Technical Skills : Salesforce and Marketo (or equivalent platforms) required. Experience with Figma, Contentful, Jifflenow, and / or Cvent a plus.
  • Creative & Analytical Mindset : Balances delivering innovative and engaging event experiences with being data-driven.
  • Strategic & Hands-On : Balances strategic planning with hands-on execution and optimization.
  • Self-Motivated : A proactive, self-starter who excels at multitasking, prioritizing, and managing diverse stakeholder needs.
  • Fluent spoken and written English is a requirement, French is a plus.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally 35%+.
  • Our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion commitments :

Our unique approach is a product of our diverse perspectives. This diversity of backgrounds and cultures is essential in helping us maintain our momentum. Our business and technical challenges are unique, and we need as many different voices as possible to join us in solving them - voices like yours. No matter who you are or where you’re from, we welcome you to be your true self at Adyen.

Studies show that women and members of underrepresented communities apply for jobs only if they meet 100% of the qualifications. Does this sound like you? If so, Adyen encourages you to reconsider and apply. We look forward to your application!

    What’s next?

Ensuring a smooth and enjoyable candidate experience is critical for us. We aim to get back to you regarding your application within 5 business days. Our interview process tends to take about 4 weeks to complete, but may fluctuate depending on the role. Learn more about our hiring process here. Don’t be afraid to let us know if you need more flexibility.

Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.

This role is based out of our Toronto office. We are an office-first company and value in-person collaboration; we do not offer remote-only roles.
