Description :
The Quality Engineer II creates test plans and test cases (manual and automated), executes all testing cycles, manages our testing environments, and coordinates defect resolution with our software development teams. The Quality Engineer will work diligently and efficiently to deliver high-quality software while working with a cross-section of teams located in Canada and globally.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Drives quality metrics by adopting latest software development testing methodologies and tools; defining metrics; ensuring adherence to metrics; and defining standards for stress and performance testing and automation tools.
2. Utilize standard test automation frameworks to design, build and maintain programs / scripts that run automated tests on code produced by the team.
3. Contribute to manual testing process in addition to automated testing.
4. Analyze and identify test scenarios to be automated.
5. Deliver requested automation scripts in an Agile model with efficiency and accuracy ensuring automation best practices.
6. Continuously improve automated testing methodologies to enable QA SMEs to maximize test coverage of the full depth of enterprise product.
7. Review business and functional requirements documents in order to create appropriate test documentation.
8. Participate in appropriate testing discussions and efforts in order to develop and maintain best practices.
9. Continuously improve the productivity and efficiency of our testing efforts
10. Stay current on new technologies and evangelize future adoption of next-generation automation tools and best practices.
Qualifications :
1. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Business, or other related fields.
2. 4+ years of Software testing / Quality engineering experience in both manual and automation testing of software products (preferably mobile applications).
3. Must have – French language proficiency (intermediate / advanced – for testing application)
4. Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Xray and test management tools.
5. Sound knowledge on -
a. Postman, API knowledge, Strong knowledge of Relational database.
b. Ability to write and execute SQL queries.
c. Regression and smoke testing.
d. QA processes, Bug Reporting and hands-on experience of preparing testing artifacts such as test plan, strategy, test cases, status reports.
6. Good knowledge of Agile principles and the flexibility to adapt the experience to new and evolving environments.
7. Superior attention to detail and focus on task completion to requirement.
8. Good Communication skills
9. Nice to have – retail domain experience, performance testing experience and / or Agile certifications.
