Primary Function

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounting Associate to join our finance team. This role is ideal for a recent university graduate in finance who is working toward a CPA designation. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience in a professional accounting environment while supporting day-to-day accounting operations and developing core technical and professional skills aligned with CPA competencies.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries under supervision
  • Support monthly and quarterly close activities
  • Assist with bank and account reconciliations
  • Assist with inter-company invoicing and credit requests
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and documentation
  • Support preparation of financial reports and schedules
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives and special projects
  • Provide general administrative support to the accounting team as needed
  • Comply with GAAP and Company policies and procedures
  • Work with key stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance
  • CPA, or enrolled/pursuing a CPA designation
  • Foundational knowledge of financial accounting principles
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (pivot tables and formulas are an asset)
  • Experience with accounting software is an asset (SAP is preferred)
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills that allow for interaction at all levels of the organization

Additional Qualifications

  • Prior experience with SAP is desired but not required
  • Experience with consolidation accounting and financial reporting is preferred

Bachelor's Degree in Finance

Salary Range: $55,000 - $68,000/year
