Job Duties / Qualifications, Skills and Abilities(QSA)
Job Duties Job Duties Provide instruction in Adult 10 classes (could include Communications, Social Studies, Math, Science) Assignment also includes supporting students in a flexible learning environment.
Duties include :
1. Manage the classroom to ensure an optimum learning environment.
2. Plan and deliver learning activities that reflect the values, beliefs, needs and contributions of a culturally diverse community.
3. Provide appropriate evaluation, assessment, and feedback to students.
4. Maintain records of achievement, attendance and other student related information and report such information as required.
5. Identify resources and equipment appropriate to support curriculum / course implementation.
6. Be reflective of and responsive to accommodation of special learning needs including equity groups and diverse learners.
7. Be flexible and responsive to learner needs through the use of appropriate instructional methodologies.
8. Respond to curriculum / course demands and make necessary adjustments according to learner needs.
9. Assist students in areas of personal, academic and career development.
10. Engage students in learning activities designed to strengthen ties to work and / or career development.
11. Where required, develop working relationships with appropriate external partners and employers, supporting students in working experience.
12. Practice good interpersonal and communication skills.
13. Pursue professional development opportunities to keep current with employer and educational requirements.
14. Work co-operatively in an interdependent team environment.
15. Follow regulations and policies adopted by Saskatchewan Polytechnic. QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE Specific Accountabilities Duties Required Qualifications, Skills and Abilities (QSA) 1. Bachelor of Education or an equivalent.
2. Valid Saskatchewan Professional A Teaching Certificate.
3. Preference for candidates eligible for Saskatchewan Accreditation in English
4. Through a combination of training and / or teaching experience, subject specialization in English and Social Studies
5. Effective communication skills (written and oral).
6. Effective interpersonal skills.
7. Effective instructional ability.
8. Ability to work with individuals with special learning needs.
9. Demonstrates valuing diversity. Desired QSA Required Competencies
