Requirements

The successful candidate will have a Bachelors degree (Masters preferred) in a related field and significant experience in early childhood development. Instruction and / or research at the post-secondary level is an asset. Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include :

• Demonstrated success and professionalism in Early Childhood Education including teaching child care or a child development specialization and an understanding of early childhood development and pedagogy.
• Experience in the Alberta Early Learning and Child Care system and knowledge ofthe northern Alberta context is an asset.
• Highly qualified faculty who seek to continuously improve instruction and meet the need of learners.
• Candidates must be able to apply different instructional strategies to meet the needs of students with different learning styles.
• Knowledge of Northwestern Polytechnic courses and current educational technologies commonly found in classrooms (e.g. videoconferencing D2L) are desired.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Willingness to work with the Teaching & Learning Centre.
• Student Focused.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• A high level of integrity professionalism and accountability.
