Your new role

Based in Montreal and reporting to regional leadership, you will play a key role in the origination, underwriting, and execution ofmercial mortgage investments across Quebec and Atlantic Canada.
You will be responsible for analyzing and structuring transactions, managing deal execution end-to-end, and supporting ongoing portfolio management activities. The role offers a balanced mix of deal origination, credit analysis, and relationship management within a sophisticated institutional platform.
Key responsibilities include:

Sourcing and underwritingmercial mortgage opportunities across a range of asset classes
Structuring financing solutions that balance risk, return, and marketpetitiveness
Preparing investment memos and credit submissions for internal approval
Managing transaction execution, including coordination with legal counsel, brokers, and internal stakeholders
Monitoring portfolio performance and supporting asset-level decision-making
Building and maintaining strong relationships with borrowers, brokers, and market participants
Contributing to market intelligence and staying informed on regional real estate trends
Collaborating closely with internal teams across credit, legal, asset management, and servicing

What you'll need to succeed

Minimum 5+ years of experience inmercial mortgage lending, underwriting, or real estate finance
Strong understanding ofmercial real estate lending structures and credit analysis
Proven ability to independently manage transactions from origination to closing
Ability to structure deals with a balanced view of risk, return, andpetitive positioning
Strong relationship management and business development skills
Solid understanding of the Quebec real estate market and lending environment (civil law framework)
Bilingual in French and English (spoken and written)
Strongmunication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
High level of autonomy, accountability, and initiative

Assets:

Existing network within the Quebec and/or Atlantic real estate lendingmunity
Experience with CMHC-insured financing
CFA or other real estate / finance-related designations
