About Potash
The Jansen project in Saskatchewan Canada is set to become one of the largest potash mines in the world and is located approximately 140 kilometers east of CAD$14 billion (US$10.5 billion) investment in the Jansen project will deliver a potash mine in Saskatchewan designed to maximize sustainability. As the largest investment in Saskatchewans history Jansen is expected to generate approximately 5500 workforce opportunities during construction and 900 long-term roles.
Jansens construction will take place over several years with first production planned for mid-2027. Once fully ramped up Jansen is expected to have an initial production capacity of approximately 8.5 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) with the potential to produce 16 to 17 Mtpa in future stages. Work Location
This position will be based in Saskatoon. The associated work schedule will be 40 hours per week Monday to Friday. Hybrid working (flexible shared workstations and a combination of office and work from home) is standard for BHP.
BHP offers domestic relocation assistance to support the successful incumbent in transitioning if required. Benefits offered as part of the relocation program include (but are not limited to) new home purchase assistance temporary accommodations home finding trip and a resettlement allowance.
Purpose
Reporting to the Reliability Superintendent this role plays a key part in ensuring the safety and reliability of site-wide equipment with a strong focus on mechanical engineering. You will lead initiatives to maintain and improve critical controls perform root cause analyses and drive continuous improvement. The role also supports compliance with BHPs risk frameworks and contributes to the overall reliability strategy.
About the Role
In this role you will :
- Own and manage critical control verifications and execution tasks in SAP
- Ensure alignment with BHPs Risk Management standards and critical control ownership
- Lead root cause analysis (RCA) workshops for chronic equipment failures
- Conduct monthly audits of physical assets and critical spares
- Maintain and improve preventative maintenance strategies using GE APM
- Drive continuous improvement aligned with the BHP Operating System
- Support lifecycle management of Fuels Lubes Air and Coolants
- Participate in BHP Field Leadership and risk-informed decision-making
