Job descriptionValid BC Security Guard License Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with diverse individuals in a healthcare setting Previous experience in security, preferably in a hospital or healthcare environment Excellent observational and problem-solving skills with the ability to remain composed under pressure Basic computer skills for report writing and incident documentation Ability to complete detailed reports, multi-task, and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays Must undergo a criminal background check Post-secondary education in Police Foundations, Community Justice Services, or Law Enforcement is an asset Alignment with Securiguard's core values - Respect, Empathy, Accountability, Courtesy & Honesty.
As a member of our Patient Watch team, you will be responsible for monitoring patients who require additional observation to ensure their safety and well-being. This role is crucial in preventing falls, self-harm, or any other incidents. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to respond effectively to various situations.
Duties and Responsibilities :
- Monitor and observe patients on a continuous basis, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Report any changes in patient behavior or condition to the healthcare team promptly.
- Assist with patient mobility and positioning as needed.
- Communicate effectively with patients to provide reassurance and support.
- Document observations and activities accurately and promptly.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Respond quickly and appropriately to any emergency situations or patient needs.
- Respond promptly to security incidents, including medical emergencies, disturbances, and safety hazards.
- Interact with patients, visitors, and staff in a calm and respectful manner, resolving conflicts and addressing concerns to maintain a peaceful environment.
- Utilize effective de-escalation techniques to manage volatile situations and prevent escalation to violence.
