What You Will Do:

This position is accountable for the day-to-day inspection of residential, commercial and industrial structures for electrical plants. The position performs on-site inspections to ensure compliance of all underground hydro installations in accordance with materials, procedures and specifications outlined in the GBE General Underground Manual, the Developers installed residential Subdivision Plan and the GBE Subdivision Manual.

  • Ensure developer-installed subdivision materials and installation methods meet GrandBridge Energy’s specifications.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to verify compliance with GrandBridge Energy’s standards.
  • Inspect electrical facilities and equipment for GrandBridge Energy Underground General Tender.
  • Inspect secondary services installed under the GrandBridge Energy Secondary Service Tender.
  • Provide "as-built by contractor" drawings upon completion of all underground projects.
  • Perform final inspections and follow up on repairs/maintenance for developer-installed electrical plants after energization to start warranty period.
  • Conduct Final Acceptance Inspection at the end of the warranty period for developer-installed electrical plants and ensure required repairs/maintenance are completed.
  • Inspect commercial and industrial electrical plants installed by the developer.
  • Ensure GrandBridge Energy’s Underground General Tender jobs are completed within the specified time frame.
  • Ensure timely completion of secondary services placed under the Secondary Services Tender.
  • Obtain municipal work permits for underground jobs requiring road allowance work.
  • Determine actual job costs for billing and joint-use cost sharing for Underground General Tender jobs and prepare accurate invoices.

What You Will Bring

  • College 2-year diploma as an Engineering Technician.
  • Member of the Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists (C. Tech. or C.E.T.)
  • Three years’ experience, preferably with an electrical utility.
  • Valid driver’s license, required for operation of company vehicles.
  • Ability to work independently and with others.
  • Fully understand all aspects of specifications regarding underground installations.
  • Must be able to use MS Office Suite and AutoCAD

The pay range for this role is:
41.06 - 45.30 CAD per hour(Brantford)
