Building on our past. Ready for the future
Worley is a global professional services company of energy, chemicals and resources experts. We partner with customers to deliver projects and create value over the life of their assets. We’re bridging two worlds, moving towards more sustainable energy sources, while helping to provide the energy, chemicals and resources needed now.
Purpose:
We are currently recruiting for an Area Manager. Our team includes world class experts and dynamic go-getters. This is a full-time position based in Markham, Ontario.
The Area Manager owns the "cradle-to-grave" delivery of a specific project area. During the FEED phase, you will lead the technical de-risking and constructability reviews of your assigned area. As the project moves into Full Execution, you will transition to the field to lead the contractors, manage interfaces between different work packages, and ensure that "Area Readiness" is achieved for commissioning.
Responsibilities:
Phase 1: FEED & Design Integration
- Constructability Reviews: Lead multi-disciplinary teams to ensure design feasibility for the established terrain.
- Scope Definition: Finalize the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for your area, ensuring no "gaps or overlaps" between civil, mechanical, and electrical packages.
- Package Management: Work with Procurement to develop technical bid evaluations (TBE) for packages under your responsibility.
- Cost Input: Provide high-accuracy "bottom-up" estimates for your area to support the Final Investment Decision (FID).
Phase 2: Full Execution & Site Delivery
- Site Leadership: Move to the project site to act as the primary point of authority for your area.
- Interface Management: The most critical part of the role—managing the "handshakes" between the various stakeholders.
- Safety & Quality: Drive Worley’s "Zero Harm" culture on-site. Ensure all work is delivered under specified standards.
- Schedule Ownership: Manage the "Area Level 3" schedule.
What you will bring:
Technical and Industry Experience:
- Experience: Senior-level experience in heavy civil or industrial construction.
- Phase Experience: Proven track record of taking a project area from the design office (FEED) into the field (Execution).
- Contract Knowledge: Strong understanding of EPC and EPCM contract forms.
Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training:
