Senior Audit Manager
We are ready to take this game to the next level and need someone passionate to lead and execute concurrent audit engagements (assurance and advisory) according to OLG’s Internal Audit methodology and the Institute of Internal Auditor (IIA) standards. This includes evaluating the effectiveness of processes and controls and proposing practical recommendations to improve OLG’s control environment.
YOUR ROLE IN THE GAME
Reporting to the Senior Director Audit (or Director Audit), you will be empowered to:
Lead assurance or advisory engagements, independently, from planning to reporting, including engagement risk assessment, engagement scoping and planning, leading business process and control walkthroughs, analyzing and understanding regulatory requirements, assessing design of controls, conducting control testing to evaluate operating effectiveness, delivering well written and easy to understand audit reports, coaching Senior Audit Specialists throughout the engagement, and managing stakeholders successfully.
Contribute to the development of the Annual Audit Plan by bringing your expertise to the annual risk assessment and to the identification of audit priorities.
Lead the assigned projects and the allocated team through motivation, coaching, training, and developmental opportunities to ensure employees are enabled to perform according to OLG and IIA professional standards.
Review working papers related to allocated audits to ensure quality and develop reports on audit findings for stakeholders and senior leadership to ensure appropriate stakeholders are consistently updated with audit and risk findings and recommendations.
Consult with Management team to obtain timely action plans on issues that surface during the audit process and gather updates on action plan progress to ensure appropriate control and risk mitigation measures are taken to rectify any issues.
Stay current and up to date with process, product, and structural changes in OLG, changes in industry practice, AGCO regulations, and information technology to ensure OLG’s control and risk environment is up to date with current best practices.
Build and maintain an effective relationship with internal and external stakeholders to exchange and/or coordinate planning on engagements and provide reports to ensure an open channel communication of regarding engagement matters
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE GAME
Education & Experience:
University degree or college diploma in business administration, finance, or related field
Professional designation in a related field is desired (e.g., CPA, CIA, CISA, CAMS, CRMA, etc.)
5 years of progressive Audit experience, including leading audit engagements from end to end.
Experience with auditing a multi-service organization is an asset.
Knowledge of audit management practices and frameworks such as COSO, Institute of Internal Auditors [IIA] Standards and other relevant regulations and policies
Broad understanding of OLG business units and the service provider environment is an asset.
Knowledge of leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Data Analytics is desired.
