Description
of duties :
Suggest story ideas / angles and potential guests. Attend story meetings.
Research, evaluate and check all material on the story being covered.
Find and choose interviewees. Conduct pre-interviews. Suggest and write interview questions and scripts.
Handle interview logistics (guests’ arrival time, fees, etc.).
Perform all other related duties as needed.
Job requirements : Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or other relevant field
Two (2) years’ journalism experience
Skills :
Excellent knowledge of news and current affairs (from various sources)
Extensive general knowledge
Very good knowledge of research tools and techniques
Ability to find good contacts
Thorough knowledge of CBC / Radio-Canada’s Journalistic Standards and Practices
Excellent command of spoken and written French
Proficiency in English an asset
Willingness to work irregular hours
