The Department of Sociology at the University of Toronto Scarborough consists of award-winning faculty who combine active and productive research programs with teaching innovation and excellence. Your opportunity :
Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the Research Project Coordinator will be part of a vibrant and agile team and help coordinate activities and operations for the Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) in Sustainability Transitions. The Research Project Coordinator will be crucial in a research program that will partner with marginalized communities in Toronto and other cities globally to catalyze the development of community-engaged and context-relevant approaches to just and equitable sustainability transitions.
As the Research Project Coordinator, you will be integral in supporting the research goals. Your research and project coordination skills will enable you to facilitate and contribute to additional grant applications and coordinate the team's engagement and knowledge coproduction activities across multiple projects and contexts. Your background and experience supporting research projects will contribute to advancing the overall goals and initiatives of the CERC, including knowledge co-production, peer learning and education.
Your responsibilities will include :
- Fostering positive relationships with project partners
- Scheduling day-to-day project activities
- Drafting summaries of research project results for project leader's review
- Drafting and submitting documented procedures to the Research Ethics Board (REB) for approval
- Synthesizing technical, qualitative and contextual research data
- Determining qualitative and / or quantitative research methods according to research objectives
- Supporting with writing and editing content for grant applications and verifying the accuracy and completeness of manuscripts
- Determining logistical details for filed trips, including travel, accommodation and stay
