Overview
The University of Ottawa Heart Institute (UOHI) is Canada’s largest and foremost cardiovascular health centre dedicated to understanding, treating, and preventing heart disease. The Division of Prevention and Rehabilitation has a unique array of initiatives and programs, with a particular emphasis on innovative approaches to preventing (primary and secondary) and managing cardiovascular disease.
The Research Coordinator (RC) will be responsible for the coordination of various qualitative and quantitative studies with the Social Connections Lab . Research projects span topics related to social determinants of cardiovascular health, patient education and engagement, and health promotion. The RC is expected to be present in Ottawa. Office space at the UOHI will be provided.
Requirements and competencies
- Bachelor’s degree from a recognized accredited program.
- Previous work experience in a coordinating role.
- Experience in the preparation of educational, promotional, and / or study materials using graphic design tools.
- Demonstrated understanding of principals of good research and data collection practices.
- Strong organizational, written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated initiative, ability to prioritize (multi-tasking skills), and work independently
- Proficiency with computer software packages (e.g., MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint) including data analysis tools (e.g., SPSS, NVivo).
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Ability to communicate in French is an asset.
- Previous experience working in a health-related environment is an asset.

Tracking and processing of study finances.
