Job description
The purpose of this role is to support the continued growth and optimization by delivering high-quality development work, ensuring scalable and secure digital workflows, and enhancing user experiences for both permit submitters and reviewers.
Candidates local to British Columbia, Canada Only / / Should have valid work visa.
Key Responsibilities :
10+yrs of experience in Ruby on Rail :
- Develop and maintain scalable full-stack applications using Rails and React to support core workflows in the client's platform.
- Design, implement, and optimize APIs for integrating third-party services and internal systems, ensuring performance and security standards.
- Collaborate with UX / UI designers to create accessible, user-friendly interfaces that align with BC Government design guidelines.
- Perform code reviews to maintain high-quality standards and ensure adherence to best practices in Rails and React development.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, providing ongoing support to maintain system stability and performance.
- Participate in pair programming sessions with other developers and contribute to the development of complex features that require in-depth technical expertise.
- Ensure secure authentication and authorization by working with tools such as Keycloak, SiteMinder, and Devise (RBAC).
- Write and maintain unit and integration tests using RSpec and Cypress to ensure code reliability and coverage.
- Collaborate with DevOps to support containerized deployments using Docker and OpenShift and improve CI / CD workflows.
- Contribute to architectural discussions, providing input on technical decisions to ensure scalability, maintainability, and performance.
- Document development processes and key components, supporting knowledge transfer and long-term maintainability of the platform.
