Job description :
- Responsible for safe and efficient operation and electro-mechanical repairs of plant equipment as well as maintenance of the plant infrastructure
- Assisting and supporting maintenance staff with a focus on continuous improvement of processes and efficiencies
- Responsible for department personnel, project management where required, and ensuring corrective action & escalations with regards to plant challenges
- Responsible for site power engineering responsibilities
- Direct and lead team in scheduling, planning and executing, PM
- Improve and maintain preventative and predictive maintenance systems
- Identify opportunities and make recommendations to continuously improve maintenance operations and efficiencies
- Oversee the safe and efficient operation of all utilities (Steam Boilers, Refrigeration, Cooling Tower, DAF Wastewater Treatment, Air Compressors, HVAC / Heating Systems, etc.) within the plant, for which the shift engineers are accountable for maintaining daily Logbook as per TSSA / ESA Standards
- Ensure that required parts are ordered, organized, and stocked
- Food Safety & Quality responsibility as outlined in SOPs and other training materials provided and maintain accurate record keeping
- Coordinate with all outside contractors and ensure that work is completed in a safe manner that complies with all necessary manufacturing codes, regulations and standards (i.e H&S, GMPs, HACCP, WHMIS, MSDS)
- Communicate daily maintenance activity to all Supervisors and Operators
- Oversee capital projects assigned by Maintenance and Reliability Manager & provide technical expertise and support to Corporate Engineering Team
- Participate as an active member of the JHSC
- Assist senior management with establishing and implementing operating and capital budgets; ensure maintenance operates within budget parameters
- Train and develop maintenance staff using continuous improvement methodologies
- Attend prescribed courses and training as required
