Job description

Who We Are Derivative Path empowers institutions across the capital markets with innovative, AI-driven technology and expert advisory solutions.

Our award-winning cloud platform supports banks, credit unions, private equity firms, hedge funds, asset managers, and insurance companies in managing interest rate, FX, and commodity risks, optimizing hedging strategies, and streamlining cross-border payments.

With a client base spanning over 250 financial institutions and leading private equity firms, we deliver scalable solutions that enhance risk management and drive operational performance.

Through strategic partnerships with Goldman Sachs, Wells Fargo, FNBO, Q2, and Jack Henry, we provide best-in-class capabilities to help clients achieve their financial objectives in an ever-evolving market. With a team of seasoned professionals comprised of decades of industry experience, Derivative Path offers a flexible, hybrid work environment to its 125+ employees with the ability to work remotely and from one of four offices in San Francisco, New York, Chicago, and Manila.

The Company is dedicated to building a diverse environment and has an unwavering commitment to creating a sense of belonging for all employees. The Opportunity We are seeking an Associate Director of Quality Assurance to lead and evolve our QA function as we scale DerivativeEDGE, our cloud-native derivatives platform serving banks, credit unions, investment managers, and corporate treasury teams. Reporting to the VP of Engineer, this role partners closely with Product, Engineering, Design, and Delivery Infrastructure to enable quality as a shared responsibility across the full development lifecycle. This position requires strong domain experience in derivatives, treasury operations, or capital markets technology, enabling the Associate Director to understand complex hedging workflows, risk management requirements, and the regulatory compliance needs of financial institutions.

You will be responsible for driving quality culture, enabling early testing practices, and ensuring the whole team owns quality outcomes as we deliver sophisticated risk management tools to a broad range of financial organizations. What You'll Do Lead and mentor the existing QA team to be quality enablers who embed in sprint planning, collaborate with developers and product managers throughout the development process, and drive a culture where the whole team owns quality outcomes. Define and execute QA strategy that emphasizes automation, early quality involvement, and shared ownership across Product, Engineering, Design, and Infrastructure teams—partnering with Product Owners to strengthen acceptance criteria and collaborating with Engineering to improve automated test coverage across CI/CD pipelines. Apply domain expertise in derivatives workflows—including interest rate swaps, FX trades, commodity hedging, and hedge accounting—to guide risk-based testing approaches and identify critical test scenarios across pre-trade analytics, execution, and post-trade monitoring. Drive quality and performance culture by ensuring teams consider monitoring, observability, test coverage, and regression strategy as part of "done," establishing metrics and KPIs that reflect team-wide quality ownership and deployment success. Act as a quality advisor (not gatekeeper) in release planning and incident reviews, continuously assessing and improving QA tools, automation frameworks, and testing processes to enable faster, safer releases. What You'll Bring 8+ years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering, with at least 3+ years in a senior or leadership role leading modern, automation-focused QA practices. Demonstrated domain experience in derivatives trading technology, treasury management systems, FX payments platforms, hedge accounting, or capital markets infrastructure serving financial institutions. Strong understanding of modern QA as an enabling function, including test automation frameworks, CI/CD integration, shift-left testing, and Agile/DevOps delivery models. Experience coaching engineers on writing better automated tests and partnering with Product to define testable requirements. Ability to translate complex derivatives workflows, regulatory requirements, and risk management scenarios into collaborative quality strategies that distribute ownership across disciplines. Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to drive cultural change toward shared quality responsibility. Hands-on familiarity with QA tools, automation frameworks (for multiple test types), test management systems, and CI/CD pipelines. Location Canada Benefits Competitive bonus, base salary, and equity compensation 23 days of PTO Fully remote RRSP contribution at 3% Competitive health benefits The expected salary for this position is $140K to $180K CAD and is eligible for a discretionary bonus and equity.

We will consider your skills, experience, and location when determining your pay. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Derivative Path is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on any of the following: race, religious creed, color, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression or gender characteristic, national origin, religion, marital status, medical condition, physical or mental disability, military service or veteran status, pregnancy, childbirth and related medical conditions, or any other classification protected by federal, state, and local laws and ordinances.
