The Automation Specialist will represent Maintenance in liaising with project engineering on any Truro plant based projects and will report to the Maintenance Manager.

What’s involved in this role
Participate in the programming of PLCs and user interfaces.
Issue specific recommendations and opportunities for improvement.
Transmit the knowledge necessary for the proper functioning of systems in a production context.
Train Maintenance staff on PLC troubleshooting.
Participate in maintaining food quality, safety and security requirements and ensure compliance with relevant health and safety rules.
Follows up on the training of maintenance employees, operators involved in automated systems and makes the necessary changes to improve certain areas of manufacturing.
Sees to the maintenance, improvement and reliability of automation equipment and remote work and troubleshooting tools.
Performs and controls the maintenance of various documents relating to automated systems (program management protocol, Agropur Quality Program, HACCP, SCADA, software updates, etc.).
What you need to join our team
Bachelor's degree in automated production or electrical engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
Have a minimum of five years of relevant experience in industrial setting, in the dairy industry an asset.
Experience in programming HMI (FTView, RSview), PLCs (AB & Omron), Servo and drives.
Knowledge of instrumentation equipment and food processes.
Good knowledge of computer systems (Office suite, Autocad an asset).
