CUPE Comp. 24-569 Closing date : 2024-12-10 @ 4 : 00 pm EST Elementary Head Custodian Location : Timmins Centennial Public School Start date : As soon as possible Vacancy Details : 1.0 (Permanent / full-time, 40 hours / week - 7 : 00am to 3 : 00pm) Position Summary : Organize and supervise custodial staff cleaning areas, perform routine cleaning and other related tasks in order to maintain a safe, clean and healthy environment for students, staff and visitors. Requirements : - High School diploma or equivalent - Computer skills (e-mail, data entry, online work orders) - Must have current, Board approved, MHMIS certificate - Experience in custodial work is preferred - Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, product directions and mixing ratios - Work cooperatively and effectively with other staff and supervisors. - Understand and carry out oral and written instructions. - Use cleaning materials and equipment with skill and efficiency - Perform medium to heavy physical labor - Meet deadlines with time constraints - Supervisory duties such as : - direct and supervise custodial staff to maintain a high level of cleanliness in the facility - organize and implement work schedules - set priorities and re-arrange staff schedules to accommodate emergencies - report writing and planning project work - training custodial staff to ensure understanding of WHMIS requirements and necessity of work safety - inputting staff absences and replacement employees using the Smartfind absence system - performing inspections and maintaining digital logs - requisitioning of materials, supplies, and equipment Salary as per the current CUPE collective agreement Collective Agreements (dsb1.ca) Interested Candidates : Postings can be found on the DSB1 website at www.dsb1.ca and on ApplytoEducation at www.applytoeducation.com.
