ABOUT THE ROLE
Reporting to the Manager Court Operations this position is responsible for supervising the daily operations of court administration for the Ontario Court of Justice Provincial Offences Office by coordinating scheduling planning and supervising the activities of court administration team and performs clerk of the court functions.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Supervise the daily operation of court administration in a digital environment ensuring the administration of justice and compliance with provincial statutes and legislation ministry direction and local policies and procedures.
Oversees the timely and efficient issuance and processing of legal documents fine payments updating and maintaining records and enforcement of court decisions in accordance with court rules Ministry procedures and numerous acts and regulations.
Oversees the delivery of Court Administration services to numerous stakeholders including the judiciary policing and enforcement agencies lawyers agents defendants and the general public.
Ensures clerk of the court functions are carried out in accordance with provisions in the Provincial Offences Act.
Assists in change management activities; evaluate the change impact and office readiness to limit potential risk; and supports training and communication.
Responds to emerging issues assessing the impact on Court Services including recommendations for action to Manager.
Implements service delivery changes and improvements to enhance the customer experience and ensure efficient operation of court administration.
Ensures all court records files and data for all processes and proceedings under the Act are stored in a secure manner.
Prepares and analyses reports statistics on court activities and financial transactions for senior management and identifies opportunities for improvement.
Assists the Manager in developing annual business / work plans performance standards and ensures the teams work aligns with the broader strategic priorities and in developing service plans and staffing proposals.
Provides input into budget and business plan development policies and procedures.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Successful completion of a College Diploma in Business Administration Court Administration or related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum three (3) years experience in a court environment and demonstrated minimum of one (1) year of direct supervisory experience.
Knowledge of collective agreement administration and labour relations principles and practices.
Satisfactory Police Criminal Background Check.
Demonstrated knowledge of relevant Standards Acts and Regulations.
Contemporary staff supervisory skills including knowledge of collective agreement administration and interpretation labour relations principles and practices and relevant employment legislation.
Demonstrated ability in the Regions leadership and corporate core competencies.
Informed and active leadership to confront bias and systemic barriers and comply with or build inclusive practices in business processes recruitment practices team management etc. to ensure inclusive and equitable workplace.
