They are currently seeking a Health & Safety Advisor to join their manufacturing leadership team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being hands-on in a fast-paced production environment, partnering closely with operations leaders, and helping build a proactive safety culture through coaching, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Director of Manufacturing, the Health & Safety Advisor will play a key role in supporting a safe, compliant, and engaged manufacturing environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintain a strong daily presence on the manufacturing floor, coaching and supporting operational teams.
  • Lead the Joint Health & Safety Committee, including meetings, action items, and follow-up activities.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, hazard assessments, and risk assessments.
  • Participate in weekly plant safety walks and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Lead workplace incident investigations, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage WSIB reporting and ensure compliance with Ontario Occupational Health & Safety legislation.
  • Oversee contractor safety, including orientations, documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Develop, maintain, and update health & safety policies, procedures, and standard operating procedures.
  • Coordinate health & safety training programs in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Participate in corporate safety audits and support ongoing continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare required safety reporting and maintain accurate health & safety documentation.
  • Build strong working relationships across manufacturing while promoting a collaborative safety culture.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Minimum 3 years of Health & Safety experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) Certification – Levels 1 & 2.
  • Strong knowledge of Ontario Occupational Health & Safety legislation and WSIB requirements.
  • Experience conducting workplace incident investigations and root cause analysis.
  • Experience performing workplace inspections, hazard identification, and risk assessments.
  • Experience managing contractor safety programs.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong partnerships across operations and influence safe work practices.
  • A practical, collaborative approach to Health & Safety leadership.
  • Ability to work on-site five days per week.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CRSP designation (or actively working toward certification).
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives within a manufacturing environment.

Why Join?

  • Competitive salary plus annual bonus opportunity.
  • RRSP matching program.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, life, and disability benefits.
  • Opportunity to make a visible impact within one of the organization's largest manufacturing operations.
  • Collaborative leadership team that values partnership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Long-term career growth with opportunities to progress into broader Health & Safety leadership roles.
  • Join a stable Canadian organization that continues to invest in its people, technology, and manufacturing operations.
