  • A doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited program.
  • Registered, or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario. Areas of practice specialization and populations served are open. Candidates with a focus on children, adolescents and / or adults are encouraged to apply.
  • Have active knowledge of both official languages (functional bilingualism); consideration of receptive bilingualism (passive comprehension of the French / English language) will be given in exceptional cases. Teaching will be in English.
  • Evidence of the ability to effectively teach with a commitment to pedagogical and academic excellence, promoting a safe, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment, and advancing Laurentian University’s bilingual and tricultural mandates.
  • The versatility to support our master's program in applied psychology, and our undergraduate program is critical. Teaching and research interests are flexible and varied. The ideal candidate will be able to teach a variety of courses including at least one of child intervention, individual differences and / or adult assessment at the graduate level, among others.
  • Evidence of very good research and scholarship with the potential to work collaboratively with colleagues, secure funding support and build internal and external interdisciplinary or intersectoral collaborations
  • Commitment to promoting a diverse, inclusive and vibrant academic and work environment.

In addition to active engagement and participation in teaching and research, the successful candidate will be expected to make contributions through service to the School, Faculty, University, and broader community.

The Psychology program is the largest program in the Faculty of Arts. It offers three and four year undergraduate degrees, and a master’s degree in Applied Psychology. Laurentian University, located on Atikameksheng Anishnawbek territory in Sudbury, Ontario, serves over 8000 students and is one of two bilingual universities in the province of Ontario.   • Être titulaire d’un doctorat en psychologie clinique d’un programme agréé;
  • Être inscrit auprès de l’Ordre des psychologues et des analystes du comportement de l’Ontario, ou y être admissible, peu importe la spécialisation ou la population servie, bien qu’on encourage les candidatures des personnes mettant un accès sur les enfants, adolescents et (ou) adultes;
  • Avoir une connaissance active des deux langues officielles (bilinguisme fonctionnel) ou, dans des cas exceptionnels, une compréhension passive de la langue française (bilinguisme réceptif), même si l’anglais est la langue d’enseignement dans ce poste;
  • Démontrer la capacité de donner des cours efficacement et manifester un engagement envers l’excellence pédagogique et universitaire, la promotion d’un milieu sécuritaire, englobant et accueillant d’apprentissage et l’avancement du mandat bilingue et triculturel de l’Université Laurentienne;
  • Montrer de la polyvalence afin d’apporter un soutien essentiel au programme de Master of Applied Psychology et de premier cycle, bien que les intérêts en enseignement et recherche puissent être souples et variés. Il serait idéal de pouvoir donner une variété de cours dont, entre autres, au moins un cours aux cycles supérieurs en matière d’intervention auprès des enfants, de différences individuelles et (ou) d’évaluation des adultes.
  • Avoir un solide dossier de recherche et d’érudition avec la possibilité de collaborer avec les collègues, d’obtenir un financement et de nouer des collaborations internes et externes pluridisciplinaires ou intersectorielles;
  • S’engager à favoriser un milieu hétérogène, inclusif et vibrant de travail et d’études;
  • En plus d’une participation et d’une collaboration actives à l’enseignement et à la recherche, la personne choisie apportera des contributions par son service à l’École, à la Faculté, à l’Université et à la communauté.

    Le programme de psychologie est le plus grand de la Faculté des arts et propose des grades de trois et quatre ans au premier cycle ainsi qu’un programme de Master of Applied Psychology. Il s’enorgueillit d’attirer de brillants étudiants et d’offrir un milieu de soutien dans lequel la population étudiante, le personnel et le corps professoral peuvent s’épanouir.

    Située sur le territoire Atikemeksheng Anishnawbek à Sudbury, en Ontario, l’Université Laurentienne sert quelque 8 000 étudiants et est l’une des deux universités bilingues de la province.
