Job description

HealthOPM is recruiting a Clinical Psychologist with motor vehicle accident (MVA) experience for an established Ontario practice specializing in trauma-focused assessment and therapy, with an opportunity based in Oakville.

The team supports children, adults, and older adults experiencing PTSD, complex trauma, psychological distress, and trauma following motor vehicle accidents through evidence-based, client-centred care.

Location: Oakville, ON

Employment: Full-Time or Part-Time | Salaried Employee or Consultant

Compensation: $148,000–$198,000/year

Work Model: Primarily On-Site | Hybrid flexibility may be considered

Your Practice, With Flexibility

Clinicians have autonomy over their working hours and caseload while working within an established, collaborative clinical team.

  • Full-time expectation of 35 billable hours/week, including treatment, report writing, client travel, and related clinical work
  • Part-time opportunities available with a minimum of 20 hours/week during business hours
  • Primarily on-site, with hybrid flexibility considered based on the candidate and clinical needs

What You'll Do

Provide psychological assessment and treatment, including care for clients recovering from motor vehicle accidents and trauma.

  • Conduct psychological assessments, evaluations, diagnosis, and individualized treatment planning
  • Provide individual and group therapy addressing trauma, PTSD, emotional, behavioural, and psychological concerns
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, monitor progress, and maintain accurate clinical records

What You'll Bring

Previous experience working with motor vehicle accident (MVA) cases is required.

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an accredited institution
  • Active registration and good standing with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario
  • Clinical or hospital experience with strong assessment, data collection, analysis, and interpretation skills

Familiarity with special education programs and services for children is an asset. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and a compassionate, empathetic approach to client care are essential.

Support Beyond the Caseload

  • Professional growth: Ongoing training, mentorship, and pathways into senior psychologist/team leadership roles
  • Continuing education: Professional development costs considered based on course relevance and cost, plus access to training, educational resources, and standardized assessment tools
  • Team environment: Supportive clinical leadership, virtual team collaboration, professional development opportunities, and social events throughout the year

Benefits & Time Off

Eligible employees receive 100% coverage for vision, dental, and prescription benefits, along with LTD, travel insurance, and additional coverage.

Vacation accrues based on hours worked, with requests submitted approximately six weeks in advance. Employer-matched DPSP and RRSP programs are also available.
