Job Description : Competent clinical practitioner assisting individuals, groups and families with health-care needs ranging from uncomplicated to complex and rapidly changing status. Demonstrates a caring approach which reflects and incorporates expertise.

Human Resources Exemption : No

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years recent experience in Mental Health related services
  • Minimum 1 year supervisory experience
  • Nursing experience working with clients with chronic mental illness

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN)
  • Other Education and Training

  • Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Psychiatric Nursing diploma is acceptable
  • Bachelor of Science in Psychiatric Nursing is acceptable
  • Competencies

  • Time management skills
  • Knowledge and Abilities

  • Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge in individual assessment and counselling skills
  • Knowledge of Rehabilitation Program Guidelines demonstrated
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Services Act and Family Services Act
  • Knowledge of Social Assistance Program Regulations
  • Ability to competently use computers and software applications
  • Knowledge of RPNAS Code of Ethics
  • Knowledge of Mental Health Approved Home Policy & Regulations
  • Knowledge in various mental disorders, etiology, treatment and intervention
  • Knowledge of Regional Health Policies

  • Registered / eligible with the College of Registered Nurses of Saskatchewan (CRNS)
  • Registered / eligible with the Registered Psychiatric Nurses Association of SK
