Project Manager, Healthcare & Digital Health Solutions Fonemed is seeking an experienced and highly organized Project Manager to lead complex client implementation and transformation initiatives across healthcare, virtual care, telehealth, contact centre, and digital health environments.
Position Summary The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering multiple concurrent projects for public and private sector clients throughout Canada and the United States.
This role serves as the primary coordinator between clients, operational leaders, clinical stakeholders, technology teams, and third-party vendors to ensure projects are delivered successfully, on time, within scope, and within budget.
The successful candidate will combine strong project management discipline with exceptional stakeholder engagement skills and experience navigating complex healthcare and service delivery environments.
Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Delivery Lead end-to-end project delivery from initiation through implementation and transition to operations.
Develop project charters, work plans, schedules, resource plans, risk registers, and status reports.
Manage project scope, timelines, budgets, deliverables, dependencies, and change requests.
Facilitate project governance meetings and provide regular updates to executive sponsors and client stakeholders.
Ensure project objectives align with client requirements and organizational strategic priorities.
Client & Stakeholder Management Serve as the primary point of contact for client implementation projects.
Build strong relationships with executive, operational, clinical, and technical stakeholders.
Facilitate workshops, requirements gathering sessions, and stakeholder meetings.
Manage stakeholder expectations and proactively resolve issues that may impact project success.
Support business development and client retention efforts through successful project delivery.
Healthcare Implementation & Operational Readiness Coordinate implementation activities for healthcare, virtual care, telehealth, contact centre, and related service delivery programs.
Facilitate operational readiness planning, training coordination, communication planning, and change management activities.
Work with clinical and operational leaders to develop workflows and implementation strategies.
Support integration of new services, technologies, and processes into existing operations.
Risk & Issue Management Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
Escalate critical issues appropriately and drive resolution.
Monitor project performance and recommend corrective actions when necessary.
Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and organizational standards.
Reporting & Documentation Maintain comprehensive project documentation and governance records.
Prepare executive-level presentations, dashboards, and status reports.
Track project metrics and key performance indicators.
Conduct post-implementation reviews and identify lessons learned.
Continuous Improvement Contribute to the development of project management methodologies, templates, and best practices.
Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Support the growth and maturity of Fonemed's project management capabilities.
Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related discipline.
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification would be an asset.
Minimum 5 years of progressive project management experience leading complex client-facing projects.
Experience within healthcare, virtual care, telehealth, digital health, or related technology environments would be an asset.
Experience managing large-scale implementations involving multiple stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated experience working with public sector, healthcare, or regulated industry clients.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies and project lifecycle management.
Exceptional communication, presentation, facilitation, and negotiation skills.
Experience managing budgets, schedules, risks, and project governance.
Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, Azure DevOps, Microsoft 365, or similar platforms.
Ability to travel occasionally within Canada and the United States.
Experience leading software, technology, or service implementation projects would be an asset.
Change Management certification or experience (Prosci or similar) would be an asset.
Knowledge of healthcare privacy, security, and compliance frameworks in Canada and/or the United States would be an asset.
