In this role, you’ll manage a highly collaborative and capable team of scientists and quantum engineers responsible for the core of our quantum computer: its performance. Make it faster, make it better, track your progress, and provide requirements to other teams to make it happen. Collaborate closely with the Integration, Hardware, Software, and Chips teams to derisk the qubit and drive its performance as a quantum processor.

WHAT WE NEED YOU TO DO
Manage the Quantum Systems Performance team within the quantum processors department, providing both people and technical leadership, promoting a high-performance, results-driven environment
Ensure engineers manage work through work breakdown and resource estimation
Manage resource allocation effectively across projects and teams
Improve processes and methods within the team
Attract, develop, motivate, and retain top talent
Coach the team to master the design-build-test cycle with respect to modelling and driving system performance
Manage the quality, production, and evolution of system-level requirements by the team
Own the system performance scorecard and risk register, and create and execute improvement plans
Work with the Program Managers and Director, Quantum Processors to drive alignment across multiple teams, meeting product roadmap deliverables and key technical milestones
Work with the team to support Photonic’s Intellectual Property strategy
WHAT YOU BRING TO OUR TEAM
5+ years of people leadership in Engineering/R&D within a company that develops, manufactures, and sells complex technology solutions
Advanced degree (MSc/MEng or PhD) in Engineering, physics or related subject
Demonstrated ability to lead generation and management of requirements and drive system performance
Experience in translating R&D results to actionable engineering practice
A background or interest in quantum computing, quantum optics, and/or spin physics is a plus
A proven ability to attract, inspire, motivate, and retain top tier diverse talent
Outstanding teamwork skills
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
