Part-time Facility Attendant
The Corporation of the Town of Tecumseh is currently recruiting for individual(s) to fill the position of Part-time Facility Attendant, in the Community & Recreation Services Department.
Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager Facilities & Energy Management, the Part-time Facility Attendants are involved in a diverse range of job activities including : ice maintenance, flooding, record keeping, ice resurfacing operations, general building and pool repair / maintenance, special event set up and take down, and custodian duties.
Qualifications and Requirements
Candidates must be at least 18 years of age, have successfully completed Grade 12; and possess a valid Ontario Driver’s License, with a minimum Class “G”, in good standing. Qualified candidates must hold or able to obtain, First Aid and CPR, Defibrillator and WHMIS certification. Effective customer service and communication skills, in addition to strong problem solving and time management skills are required.
The following qualifications will be considered an asset :
- Certified Pool Operator, or equivalent;
- Basic Refrigeration Certificate;
- Previous experience in arena, refrigeration process, and pool building operations;
- Previous experience as an ice resurfacer operator; and
- Hard working, self-motivator able to work with minimal supervision, and experience in the use of hand and power tools, regular vehicle and equipment checks, building maintenance and janitorial duties.
Applicants must be able to work shifts as required including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Regular hours of work are between 6 : 00 am and 12 : 00 midnight, seven (7) days a week, for a maximum of twenty-four (24) hours per week.

Salary
The Town offers an hourly rate of $22.39 (2024 – under review), in accordance with the Collective Agreement with CUPE Local 702.13. This position is subject to a probationary period of sixty (60) days of work or one (1) year of service, whichever comes first.
