Duties

The key responsibilities of the Security Screening Field Investigator (Interviewer) are :

Plans, organizes, and conducts interviews to gather evidence, validate reliability and suitability, determine candidate loyalty, and resolve any doubt and concerns that were discovered in documentation and / or the investigation.

Carries out consultative interviews with the applicant’s references to validate applicant identity and character, gather information related to the application, and verify application data.

Work environment

Security Screening Field Investigators will work on an as needed basis with no guaranteed of hours. They will work in partnership with Atlantic Region Departmental Security to complete tasks and prepare written reports.

Intent of the process

This is an anticipatory staffing process for the purposes of identifying persons for future casual opportunities in the Atlantic Region Departmental Security Section in Dartmouth NS, St. John’s NLD, Fredericton NB and Charlottetown PE. Casual employment is a temporary form of employment for a maximum of 90 working days per department in a calendar year. Shifts are ‘’as and when required’’ during the week. Casuals will be expected to work remotely from home, however, on occasion they may be required to be present on-site for training purposes. EDUCATION :

A secondary school diploma or employer‐approved alternatives.

EXPERIENCE :

EX1. Experience in planning and / or conducting administrative investigations in a government setting or other.

EX2. Experience in preparing briefing documents or reports.

If you possess any of the following, your application must also clearly explain how you meet it (other qualifications)

EXPERIENCE :

EX1. Experience in the support of a security program in at least one of the following fields : physical security, personnel security, emergency management, business continuity planning, security in contracting or security awareness.

EX2. Experience in interpretating or applying Treasury Board Policy on Government Security and related directives and standards.
