Job Description
The House of Commons’ Parliamentary Precinct Operations is currently looking to staff the Supervisor, Printing Production Center position.
The Supervisor, Printing Production Centre is accountable for providing day and evening shift oversight and guidance to printing production employees on all aspects of plant production, including plate making, offset printing, bindery and mail processing, as well as all aspects of procurement including ordering, inventory management, control and reporting of contracts and supply arrangements, receiving and shipping activities, for the provision of various print products required by Members of Parliament, the House Administration and other Parliamentary partners.
As a working supervisor, the position is also responsible for ensuring quality standards are met, for monitoring production issues, ensuring equipment maintenance and repairs to minimize downtime between production runs, and redistributing work to support optimal production priorities and best business practices, while exploiting the maximum technical capacity of leading-edge printing equipment in delivering high-end products to clients. The incumbent is responsible for developing and implementing a production control system that enables effective planning across the Centre to meet production requirements and schedules, while ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness in production centre activities. Responsibilities also include ensuring that production information and statistics are accurately maintained in the Impress system, ensuring environmental and OHS standards are maintained in all production phases, participating in the staffing and training of employees, as well as providing input to plant production strategies and business planning.
