Vice President, Finance

Real Estate Development

Vice President, Finance Duties & Responsibilities :

Operational Leadership :

  • Responsible for project financial modelling, review project proformas
  • Conduct investment analysis and making investment proposals
  • Guide the accounting team to provide accurate and timely reporting on financial performance of projects
  • Establish and maintain appropriate internal control safeguards
  • Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
  • Assess organizational performance against both the annual budget and company long-term strategy
  • Supervise ongoing project cost performance, challenge change orders, and hold tight project budgets to enhance project profitability
  • Provide strategic advice regarding financing options for the success of each project and the Company
  • Identify risk, provide analysis and recommendations to strategically enhance financial performance that will allow the Company to meet and exceed financial goals
  • Building positive relationships with auditors, banks, investors, and other external partners
  • Negotiate banking and financing deals, age cash needs and cash flow to meet operation needs and cater for business expansion
  • Lead and guide accounting processes to meet operation needs, ensure accurate and timely financial statements are prepared and filed
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance corporate governance and sound business practices
  • Participate in incentive design schemes for key management members
  • Assist CEO in implementation of the strategic plan and support functional teams in the implementation of operational plans

Corporate Leadership :

  • You are passionate about the real estate business and North American market
  • Strong advocator of performance-based and results-driven approach
  • Focusing on value creation through critical thinking or smart planning
  • Feel comfortable communicating in English and Mandarin to owners and making proposals and suggestions (Mandarin and asset, not requirement)
  • Be part of the leadership in building a long-term committed professional team through incentive schemes
  • Feel comfortable in managing conflicts cross departments when it is critical to achieve desirable cost performance of the project’s budgets
  • You are able to unite teams to achieve desired results
  • Open minded to welcome and support creative ideas
  • Promote a culture of teamwork and open communication
  • Partner with functional leaders, and contributors at all levels, bringing your empathy and point of view to the conversations and collaborations and challenging us to be more effective
  • Vice President, Finance Qualifications :

  • CFA Designation an asset
  • Experience with raising capital for real estate
  • Experience with investor relationships is highly valued
  • A minimum of 5-8 years of Real Estate and / or development industry experience
  • A proven strategic partner to the CEO and the Board; deep appreciation of risks in real estate and strategic play with cycles
  • Bilingual English / Mandarin preferred
  • High standards of integrity and ethics
  • Accountability and Respect to Deadlines
  • Deep understanding of Real Estate Risks
  • Deep understanding of Macros of Real Estate
  • Experience in controlling project costs according to best practices
  • Proficient in formulating deal structure and equity structure
  • Occasional travel required
  • Ability to conduct presentations
  • Proficient with computer-based software (excel, PPT, Yadi etc.).
  • Overtime as needed by business to meet the deadlines
  • Vice President, Finance  Renumeration :

    Base Salary – $250,000 – $350,000 Canadian Dollars; compensated based on the experience.

    Annual Bonus based on the performance.
