In this position...
The Area Manager supports a team of Team Managers by leading and developing a well structured team based upon SQDCPME targets (safety, quality, delivery, cost, people, morale, environment). This hands‑on role enforces Manufacturing Operating System standards, drives daily shop‑floor performance, coordinates with Quality and Maintenance, and coaches Process Coaches and operators to resolve abnormalities and sustain improvements.
The Area Manager ensures safe, wall to wall efficient production while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement through the Ford Production System, validate facility staffing plan and budget are sufficient to deliver a successful product
You'll have..
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering. (Successful candidates will be required to provide proof of degree completion for the highest level of education attained. If the degree was obtained from a school outside of Canada, an Education Credential Assessment report showing Canadian equivalency is also
Experience:
At least 10 years of extensive experience in high volume manufacturing environment.
At least 4 years of progressive responsibilities and experience in operations leadership.
Experience in successfully leading a manufacturing function and directly overseeing 50+ hourly/Salary employees.
Working experience in a unionized environment.

Education: Master's degree in engineering.
Experience:
Lean / Six Sigma certification or demonstrated equivalent experience applying lean manufacturing principles and standardized work.
Adept track record of building trust and rapport with employees and stakeholders and creating positive and healthy cultures.
Excellent leadership skills with demonstrated ability to resolve diverse problems.
Proficient problem solving skills and the ability to lead effectively under pressure.
Demonstrated experience in one of the following areas: Assembly or Machining.
