Job Description
We are currently looking for physicians who provide full scope Family Medicine, as well as Family Physicians with enhanced Surgical, Anesthesia, and Obstetric skills who are interested in rural medicine to join the Meadow Lake physician group at the Meadow Lake Primary Health Care Centre.
We welcome new graduates to join us.
We are a collegial group of 14 full-time equivalent (FTE) physicians who have the privilege of working alongside several Nurse Practitioner colleagues in a multidisciplinary, team-based care environment.
We provide full scope family medicine, including itinerant clinic services in:
- Loon Lake
- Goodsoil
- Waterhen Lake First Nation
- Canoe Lake Cree First Nation
- Green Lake
- Makwa Sahgaiehcan First Nation
- Ministikwan Lake Cree First Nation
We run a seven-day-per-week hospitalist inpatient service:
- Weekdays: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
- Weekends: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM
The clinic is a primary care clinic supported by Medical Office Assistants, Billing Clerks, RN Case Managers, Chronic Disease Educators, a Dietitian, Pharmacist, and Mental Health Therapist.
Visiting itinerant services include:
- OBGYN
- Otolaryngology
- Orthopedics
- Surgery
We are blessed with an engaged community and a generous Hospital Foundation. As a result, we enjoy the benefits of up-to-date medical equipment in our modern hospital.
As a physician group, we are engaged in community-based medical education for both undergraduate and postgraduate learners. We are a longitudinal integrated clerkship site and are one of the top three rural education sites in terms of total number of students and teaching hours provided.
We are located 300 km northwest of Saskatoon and are the northern-most surgical obstetrics site in the province. This is an opportunity to provide medicine to an underserved population.
Several of our physicians are engaged in global health opportunities, and as a group we are very supportive of others doing the same.
Outside of a rewarding medical practice, you will enjoy a five-minute commute, many lakes and trails, and endless opportunities for hunting, fishing, and camping.

Relocation Package
This opportunity is eligible to receive the SHA NW Area Recruitment & Relocation Stipend of $15,000 in exchange for a three-year return of service.

The successful candidate must be eligible for licensure with the and have current coverage.
Benefits
This opportunity is also eligible for the Rural Physician Incentive Program (RPIP), offering up to $200,000.
