The Lac La Ronge Indian Band’s Woodland Wellness Centre is inviting applications for the following One Permanent Full-Time position(s) based out of the Prevention & Recovery Department in La Ronge, SK :

Child & Youth Therapist

The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties :

• Counseling survivors of emotional, physical, or sexual abuse; residential school survivors and their families
• Use knowledge of family violence treatment, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), trauma treatment and processing of negative emotions, sexual abuse assessments and therapeutic interventions
• Provide trauma-focused counseling and trauma recovery therapeutic services for children, youth and adults for sexual abuse, severe physical abuse, and / or witnessing violence.
• Provide trauma-focused counseling and trauma recovery therapy services for children, youth and adults with Post Traumatic Stress (PTS) relating to unresolved trauma.
• Ability to make appropriate assessments and treatment plans based on a holistic approach, evaluate treatment progress and outcomes, and make appropriate referrals as required.
• Facilitate support and therapy groups for children, youth, and non-offending caregivers.
• Evaluate the needs of the child and family and provide appropriate referrals and information.
• Maintain accurate and timely case notes and record of all client contacts.
• Provide accurate reports monthly.
• Work closely with other Multidisciplinary team members to provide support for children, youth, and families.
• Perform other duties within the scope of this position as assigned by the Program Coordinator
