Job Summary – Operations
The ITAD/Computer Technician is responsible for testing, configuring, troubleshooting, and repairing laptops and other electronic equipment as required, and performing inventory control including Approved Certified Data Destruction (CDD).
They may also be responsible for wiping/destroying hard drives as per Client specs and SOW requirements, as well as palletizing electronic equipment. (PCs, laptops, printers, removable disks, monitors etc.)
The position
- Test, analyze, diagnose, and repair all existing and incoming laptops, printers, and other electronic devices parts/components to ensure products are fully functional
- Perform data sanitization and factory resets.
- Change RAM (install physical component)
- Change out hardware for the devices (physical component).
- Install new memory upgrades.
- Inspect parts ensuring quality compliance.
- Lifting and moving up to 20 lbs. regularly.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot product faults, and adjust, replace, or repair.
- Install, remove operating systems on devices.
- Evaluate the operation of electronic components using the software provided.
Your Qualifications & Abilities:
- Minimum High School graduate: preference is a computer programming diploma or degree
- Experience with laptops, desktops, and iPads/tablets
- Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Experience in repairing wireless products from cosmetic changes, screens, batteries, internal components, software, flashing and unlocking.
- Experience performing troubleshooting, diagnostics, repair and testing on various mobile products, including Android, iPhones, and iPads.
- Strong technical background in electronics.
- Flexible, fast learner with the ability to multitask
