Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist in the practice of pharmacy under direct supervision, following state and federal regulations.
• Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions. If PTCB certified, assist and coach pharmacy technicians and cashiers.
• Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience, including greeting customers, offering assistance, and resolving issues.
• Engage customers and patients by greeting them, offering assistance with products and services, and ensuring a positive experience.
• Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.
• Assist in dispensing prescriptions, counting and pouring drugs, verifying medications, checking for interactions, and maintaining workflow.
• Report prescription errors immediately to the pharmacist and adhere to company policies related to errors and the quality improvement program.
• Maintain responsibility for registering sales on the assigned cash register, handling cash, and assisting customers in the OTC aisle.
• Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist attention.
• Process manual claims for third‑party prescription services efficiently.
• Assist pharmacy department with inventory management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, storing shipments, and filing claims for overages or damages.
• Assist in administering clinical services such as collecting and labeling blood / urine samples and coordinating with Walgreens healthcare clinics and external providers.
• Support pharmacy manager and staff pharmacist in maintaining relationships with local medical community and performing outreach to health groups.
• Assist with exterior and interior maintenance to ensure the department is stocked, clean, neat, and orderly.
• Comply with all company policies and maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
• Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
