Overview
Coastal Care Veterinary Emergency and Referral Hospital is hiring an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician with a passion for dermatology to join our team where you will work alongside our board-certified Dermatologist. This position requires a driven individual with attention to detail who is a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision. The ideal candidate must be computer literate and have solid analytical and medical skills. Critical thinking and problem-solving skills are a must; you must be able to multitask, collaborate and communicate with co-workers efficiently and effectively.
Technical abilities and skills
- Work independently under the guidance of the Dermatologist
- Assist and facilitate with appointments
- Know what is entailed in all dermatology procedures and how to set up for them
- Enjoy communicating with clients; comfortable taking medical history, communicating discharge information, updating clients.
- Be able to field phone calls from clients, schedule dermatology appointments, and refill prescriptions
- Maintain the sanitation and stocking of the dermatology appointment room
- Maintain an appropriate inventory of the dermatology room
- Proper routine care and maintenance of all dermatology equipment
- Follow all policies and procedures as outlined in the Employment Manual.
