Job description

Job Description

Be part of what makes us different.

You’ll help lead the delivery of the fresh, high-quality food experience Farm Boy is known for while supporting a culture built on teamwork, trust, and inclusion. Through hands-on leadership, service excellence, and culinary passion, you’ll guide the team in creating welcoming customer interactions and strong operational performance. Here are some of the other ways you’ll help us stand out:

  • Deliver warm, confident, and engaging customer service that reflects Farm Boy’s commitment to the best fresh shopping experience.
  • Welcome, greet, and assist customers using Farm Boy Service Standards while sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm for our products.
  • Provide day-to-day team supervision and floor support by delegating tasks, coordinating breaks, receiving and storing orders, completing 2x2s, and ensuring full readiness for business.
  • Prepare and cook fresh offerings for our hot and cold bar, grill station, and service cases, ensuring quality, presentation, and consistency.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive team culture through hands-on coaching, training, and mentoring focused on floor operations, department standards, and readiness for business.
  • Promote company policies and effectively communicate updated business objectives as shared by the store leadership team.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and organized work and storage areas through general housekeeping duties, including sweeping, mopping, and dishwashing.
  • Follow all corporate policies and procedures with particular focus on Health & Safety, Food Safety, HACCP compliance, and proper equipment use.
  • Support the team with additional duties on a periodic basis.

Qualifications

What you bring to the table.

We provide the opportunity, and you bring the potential.

  • A genuine passion for delivering engaging and exceptional customer service.
  • Completion of a post-secondary program with an emphasis in culinary arts, plus a minimum of 1 year of progressively responsible experience in a similar role (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
  • The ability to work independently while taking pride in exceptional quality, attention to detail, and strong cleanliness standards.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, with a strong interest in team engagement, coaching, and development.
  • A collaborative leadership style supported by clear and effective communication skills.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, hands-on setting that involves multiple deadlines, extended periods of standing, heavy lifting, and work that may be performed in cooler, freezer, and outdoor conditions.
  • Flexibility to work a dynamic schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Fluency in English; French language skills considered an asset.

What we bring to the table.

At Farm Boy, we believe in supporting our Team Members throughout their careers. From the head office to the individual store, we’re proud to stand out in the market as a workplace that offers:

  • Comprehensive benefit program and coverage that varies by position.
  • Coverage may include healthcare, dental care, disability coverage, life insurance and registered retirement savings program.
  • A 10% discount on in-store purchases.
  • On-the-job training and the prioritization of internal promotions to help you grow and embrace new opportunities.
  • The opportunity to support local neighbourhoods through our community programs.
