Job descriptionManage bi-weekly and weekly payroll processing for both hourly and salaried employees across Canada. Verify and reconcile timecards to ensure accurate tracking of hours worked, overtime, and paid time off. Calculate and process payroll adjustments, including bonuses, commissions, and other compensation components. Ensure adherence to federal, provincial, and local payroll tax regulations, including withholding and reporting requirements. Produce detailed payroll reports and provide insights to management on payroll metrics, trends, and costs. Address employee inquiries regarding payroll discrepancies, deductions, and earnings statements promptly and effectively. Work closely with the HR department to onboard new employees and ensure their correct setup in the payroll system. Assist with year-end payroll activities, including the preparation and distribution of T4 forms. Stay informed about updates in payroll laws and regulations to maintain compliance and mitigate risks. Continuously seek and implement improvements to streamline payroll processes and enhance efficiency. PCP or PLP designation preferred. Minimum of 3 years of experience processing payroll for Canadian employees is required. Multiprovince payroll processing experience is required. Experience with Ceridian Powerpay is required. Experience processing payroll for Ontario employees is required.
