Corporate Services Paralegal – #5142

Our client, one of Greater Vancouver’s most reputable law firms, has a new position available for a Corporate Services Paralegal.

The Corporate Services Paralegal is a member of the Corporate Services team, and will play a key role in client and matter management. This role will support lawyers, other firm staff members, and clients with unique inquiries. This role requires in-office attendance for all days of the week.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides operational, strategic and administrative support for the Corporate Services team.
• Coaches and mentors more junior members of the Corporate Services team in day-to-day client work.
• Works with the wider corporate practice group to implement legislative changes within the department to ensure compliance with federal and provincial business law guidelines.
• Attends meetings with the corporate practice group to take instructions, obtain required information, review corporate records, compile information, report on matter statuses and recommend potential courses of action.
• Assists with and supports closings, transactions and the management of key projects.
• Assists with the preparation of all documentation within the scope of the Corporate Services team.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Paralegal Diploma/Certificate is preferred, plus a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Corporate Legal Administrative Assistant or Corporate Paralegal, or an equivalent combination of training, education and experience.
• High degree of knowledge of relevant legal procedures, statutes and regulations.
• Strong attention to detail, with an aptitude for high quality proofreading skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of the Corporate Services team and the wider firm.
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to set and redefine priorities within an occasionally fast-paced environment.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel), and corporate services technology (experience with ALF, NetDocs, or similar software applications are an asset).
